Blue Ridge Mountain Coffee is a small batch artisan coffee roastery located in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and in Coastal New Bern, North Carolina.
We concentrate our efforts on developing relationships in the sourcing process, learning about and executing the craft of roasting, exploring the science of brewing, and sharing delicious coffee with you.
Traveling the world over as Baroque Trumpet and Baroque Dance soloists respectively, Barry Bauguess and Paige Whitley-Bauguess frequented some of the best (and worst) coffee shops in pursuit of the perfect cup. In 2010 we moved to our log cabin in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and decided to continue on our quest for the perfect bean, the perfect roast, and the perfect cup. We started roasting coffee for ourselves, our friends, and now for you.

We roast coffee beans in our custom fluid bed air roaster. As compared to the traditional drum roasters, fluid bed air roasters produce consistent results, batch after batch. That’s primarily due to the fact that in a fluid bed air roaster all beans are heated to exactly the same temperature at exactly the same time. This allows for very precise control over the roasting process, which in turn results in a better tasting coffee.
While this type of roasting method generally requires more time, more care and a higher level of expertise, we think that you will agree that the final result is well worth the effort.
