Merlefest Sponsorship March 29 2017

We were just named the official coffee sponsor for Merlefest here in Wilkesboro, NC. It's a pretty big deal for us. We're serving our best coffees to the artists and VIP guests at the main Watson Stage. For those of you who don't know about Merlefest, it's one of the largest music festivals in the US bringing around 75,000 fans to our tiny town of Wilkesboro. Come to Merlefest, enjoy our music and stop by and hi. www.Merlefest.org.

Every Day's a Holiday February 26 2015

We've gotten many requests for our 2014 Holiday blend, so we've decided to add it to our permanent roast offerings as Every Day's a Holiday. Make today your special holiday with this sweet, chocolaty blend of coffees from Indonesia, South America, and Africa.

Medium Dark Roast

One of our coffee lovers from the NC coast just wrote: "

"Thank you for the info about your holiday blend coffee.  And most of all THANK YOU for making it a permanent blend!  My husband and I agree it is the best coffee we have ever had."

New Compostable Retail Bags October 06 2014

Our new retail bags are now compostable.

Once you've finished with the delicious coffee in your 1 lb. bag, you can compost it with just a few simple steps.

  1. Remove the tin tie closure. It's just glued on and is easy to remove
  2. Remove the round valve located above the Blue Ridge Mountain Coffee logo. It should be fairly easy to remove this with your hands, but a pair of scissors will definitely get the job done.
  3. Compost!

Our new bags are made by Pacific Bags, Inc. Here's what they say about the bags:

Biotrē Film is composed of 60% (by weight) biodegradable materials made from renewable resources such as wood pulp. Based on previous tests, biodegradation will take on average several months in a backyard composter.

The remaining 40% (by weight) of the bag is PE from fossil fuels with an additive that is designed to make it breakdown over five to 10 years, reducing its impact on the waste stream compared to standard PE.

Opening Day April 10 2014

After months of cupping, roast profiling, and caffeine-induced comas, we are finally open for business.
